What is broadform insurance in Washington State?

Washington State Broad Form Insurance insures the policyholder only if they are behind the wheel of the vehicle. It can include liability, uninsured motorist, and personal injury protection coverage. It does not offer comprehensive and collision coverage for the auto being driven.

Do you need car insurance if you have a drivers license?

If you have a license but don’t own a vehicle, you probably don’t need insurance. The owner of the car is supposed to keep their car insured. If you want to protect yourself in case they do not have insurance that will cover while you are driving, you can purchase a broad form policy.

What company offers the least expensive non-owners insurance?

Progressive (who we represent) usually offers the least expensive non owner insurance prices. The actual rate will always be affected by factors such as how old you are, the number of tickets and accidents you have had, and where you live. Even though all the companies we represent offer non owner policies, we do not suggest it. A broadform policy costs only a little bit more but provides so much more protection.

What is Washinton state’s minimum auto insurance requirement?

The minimum required auto liability limits per accident in Washington are $25,000 per person bodily injury liability, $50,000 total bodily injury liability, and $10,000 property damage liability.

Do I need to get insurance before buying a vehicle?

You do need to have at least basic liability insurance before you drive the car off the lot. Nothing worse than getting a ticket for no insurance. And, if you have a loan on the car, the dealership will require you have “full coverage” before they will let you take the car home.
