A Broad Form policy can be cheaper than a standard liability-only policy because the insurance company is only responsible to pay for accidents caused by the driver named on the policy. This kind of policy in essence excludes all other possible drivers.

What states allow broadform car insurance?

Washington state is one of a handful of states that offers broadform insurance. When you vacation in any other state, whether they allow broadform or not, your insurance policy is perfectly valid.

What company has the least expensive non-owners insurance?

Progressive (who we represent) usually has the cheapest non owner insurance rates. The actual rate will always be affected by factors such as your age, the number of tickets and accidents you have had, and city you live in. Even though all of our companies offer non owner policies, we do not suggest it. A broadform policy costs only a little bit more but offers so much more protection.

What is the minimum car insurance required by Washington State?

The minimum required auto liability limits required per accident in Washington are $25,000 per person bodily injury liability, $50,000 total bodily injury liability, and $10,000 property damage liability.

Do you need to have insurance before buying a car?

You are required by the state to have liability insurance before you take the car off the lot. Nothing worse than getting pulled over for no insurance. And, if you have a loan on the car, the dealership will require you have “full coverage” before they will let you take the car home.
