Union Gap is a city in Yakima County, Washington, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 6,047. Union Gap has become the retail hub for entirely Yakima Valley thus of Valley Mall and other well-off businesses instinctive located here. Part of the city is share of the Yakama Nation.

The city of Union Gap was originally named Yakima City and was officially incorporated upon November 23, 1883. When bypassed by the Northern Pacific Railroad in December 1884, over 100 buildings were moved gone rollers and horse teams to the user-friendly site of the depot. The other city was dubbed North Yakima. In 1918 North Yakima was misused to comprehensibly Yakima, and the indigenous town to the south was named Union Gap.

Union Gap is located at 46°33′30″N 120°29′26″W / 46.55833°N 120.49056°W / 46.55833; -120.49056 (46.558237, -120.490566).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.06 square miles (13.11 km²), of which, 5.05 square miles (13.08 km²) is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 km²) is water.

As of the census of 2010, there were 6,047 people, 2,061 households, and 1,420 families blooming in the city. The population density was 1,197.4 inhabitants per square mile (462.3/km²). There were 2,173 housing units at an average density of 430.3 per square mile (166.1/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 62.9% White, 0.9% African American, 2.6% Native American, 0.9% Asian, 29.1% from supplementary races, and 3.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 47.2% of the population.
