Broad Form Quote Frequently Asked Questions

What is a broad form insurance?

Broadform insurance has liability coverage but also can provide uninsured motorist, and personal injury protection (PIP). It only covers losses when you are driving the car. Comprehensive and collision coverages (aka Full Coverage) cannot be added to cover the vehicle you are driving.

Do you need insurance if you have a drivers license?

If you have a license but don’t own a car, you probably don’t need car insurance. The owner of the car is supposed to keep their car insured. If you want to protect yourself in case they do not have insurance that will cover while you are driving, you can buy a broad form policy.

Who has the least expensive non-owners insurance?

Progressive (who we represent) usually has the lowest non owner insurance rates. The actual rate will be affected by factors such as how old you are, your driving record, and city you live in. Even though all of our companies offer non owner policies, we do not recommend it. A broadform policy costs only a little bit more but offers so much more coverage.

What is Washinton state’s minimum auto insurance requirement?

The minimum required auto liability limits required per accident in Washington are $25,000 per person bodily injury liability, $50,000 total bodily injury liability, and $10,000 property damage liability.

Do you need to get insurance before buying a vehicle?

You are required by the state to carry liability insurance before you drive the car off the lot. Nothing worse than getting pulled over for no insurance. And, if you have a loan on the car, the dealership will require you have comprehensive & colliision coverage before they will let you drive off the lot. If you are already insured, a simple call to your agent should be all it takes. If you don’t have auto insurance, Smash the Get A Quote button to ask for a quote today.
